In 2022, the Weizmann Institute of Science launched a new program to advance women scientists in Israel: the Women’s Postdoctoral Career Development Award in Science. This exclusive program aims to boost the research accomplishments of exceptional Israeli women scientists by supporting them during their postdoctoral training at leading institutions and laboratories abroad, a crucial stage in their career development.
Eligible candidates will have completed at least one year and no more than four years of postdoctoral training at the time of submission. Selection will be based on promising, even if preliminary (pre-publication), research results, and with the understanding that the awardees intend to return to Israel to pursue an academic career.
The Women’s Postdoctoral Career Development Award in Science includes a $70,000 prize ($35,000 per year for a two-year period) and a career development consultancy package. The prize is offered in addition to other means of financial support secured by the candidates themselves.
The program is administered by Prof. Idit Shachar, Head of the Weizmann Institute’s Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Gender Equality.
Applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2023.
