Genetika+ is an award winning, early stage start-up using cutting edge technologies to develop a new tool for the management of Major Depression. Our mission is to reduce the number of suffering patients, the time that patients suffer, and improve the quality of patient lives. We are recruiting a Bioinformatician to contribute to our research program, which offers a significant and rapid growth opportunity. The candidate should be a highly motivated and independent individual able to work with the rest of our scientific team on the development of new platform technologies. The successful candidate will be an accomplished data scientist or bioinformatician. We are based in Givat-Ram, Jerusalem and offer remote working opportunities.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
In this position, you will be developing algorithms, or applying and customizing existing ones, to identify new biological associations. You will have the opportunity to develop and incorporate new software applications that will be part of a marketed product, with direct impact on patient care. You could also interact and engage with KOLs, participate in conferences, and develop scientific communications and peer reviewed publications.
Specifically, you will:
• Lead key elements of our bioinformatics program.
• Analyze large molecular datasets and develop data models and databases.
• Develop and apply algorithms for multi-modal data, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning. • Design experiments and perform validations.
• Keep abreast of new methodologies, algorithms, and approaches through reading scientific literature and initiating scientific collaborations.
• Manipulate different data types, including genomics, imaging, and real-world-data.
• Generate algorithms for automated integration of image processing and NGS data.
• Research and development of software, algorithms, and databases for data analysis.
• Source/initiate collaborations that secure access to novel or proprietary data and new computational methodologies to analyze biological data. Qualifications & experience: • MSc or PhD in biological sciences, bioinformatics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• Ambitious with a positive can-do attitude.
• Demonstrated experience in data analytics and deep learning algorithm development.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Expertise in NGS/genomic analysis, real-world-data (e.g. EMRs), imaging data.
• Proficient in Python, MATLAB, R and/or other relevant software.
