Berkowitz Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Ivan and Francesca Berkowitz Family Precision Medicine Clinic at Clalit Research Institute, Israel (CRI) invites exceptional applicants for its Berkowitz Postdoctoral Fellows program, with a start date as early as October, 2021. We seek outstanding and highly motivated early-career scientists in the field of precision medicine, spanning a broad range of expertise from genomics to clinical data science and machine learning. Fellows will have the opportunity to work with CRI faculty on interdisciplinary precision medicine research in collaboration with our partners at The Ivan and Francesca Berkowitz Family Living Laboratory at the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School in Boston (HMS DBMI). Fellows will be based in Israel and will be expected to spend some of the time working on-site with our partners at HMS DBMI in Boston. Fellows will hold the academic rank of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School, and be provided a competitive salary, standard benefits and travel stipend. Appointments are anticipated for two years, with renewal after the first year contingent upon satisfactory performance. This program provides a unique opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to pursue broad interdisciplinary research with scientific, medical, technological and clinical dimensions, and engage in translational research with a broad clinical impact. Candidates must have received their PhD in the last 3 years in a research-oriented quantitative field, and have a proven track record of high quality peer-reviewed publications in the scientific literature. We are specifically interested in individuals who have knowledge in causal inference and predictive modeling, proven methodological and quantitative abilities, a thorough understanding and command of statistics, familiarity with SQL and python or R, and excellent proficiency in reading and writing scientific work in English.
