Hy Isenbaum

— Apr 17, 2008

Passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 Hy Isenbaum left behind a legacy that few individuals ever attain. He was the quintessential human being. Uncompromising in his fervent love of family, friends, and community. Unblemished and respected in the world of business for his fairness, intelligence, and business acumen. Hy has been written up in the Who's Who in Canada and the Institute of Chartered Accountants bestowed upon him the honour of being an F.C.A. Hy was instrumental in the start up of the Lunenfeld Research Institute at the Mount Sinai Hospital and was also a former chairman of the Mount Sinai Hospital. Hy was also a governor of the Weitzeman Institute in Rehovot, Israel, chairman of the board of Bioniche Life Sciences and a founding partner of Soberman Isenbaum & Colomby and many other social endeavours too numerous to mention. Hy was a loving husband to his wife Myrna, a devoted father to his daughter Lori and to his son-in-law Alvin and "Papa" to his grandsons Brandon and Justin. The loss of Hy is and will be forever painful.
