Ms. Arlyn J. Imberman

Aug 11, 1949 — Jul 02, 2020

I am deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our dear friend, Arlyn J. Imberman. Arlyn passed away in Arizona on July 2, 2020, after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
An expert in graphology, Arlyn founded Emerging Image in 1990 to provide graphology- and corporate coaching-based human resources services to US corporations. In 2008, she published Signature for Success: How to Analyze Handwriting and Improve Your Career, Your Relationships, and Your Life, a successful book in which she shared her professional expertise.
A long-time friend and supporter of the Weizmann Institute, Arlyn was an active Board member of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science for many years, and hosted several events in her homes in New York and Arizona. She also sponsored a series of award-winning films that helped boost the fundraising efforts of ACWIS.
Arlyn established a testamentary PhD scholarship in memory of her husband, Jacob Imberman, who passed away in 2002. In 2010, she created the Arlyn Imberman Professorial Chair for a scientist in particle physics and astrophysics. In 2019, as part of her support for advancing women in science, Arlyn gave an additional testamentary pledge, establishing the Arlyn Imberman Research Fellow Chair, to support a female staff scientist at the Weizmann Institute. For her generosity, she was inducted into the Institute’s President’s Circle in 2012.
Arlyn has been a member of the Institute’s International Board since 2009, and became a Life Member in 2018. An elegant and sociable woman, she was loved by everyone who knew her on campus and in the global Weizmann family, and she will truly be missed.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Arlyn’s brother, Jeffrey Kittay, his wife, Eva, their children, and the rest of her family.
