Neuronal circuits and sexually dimorphic behaviors
How do genes shape neural circuits and animal behaviors?
How does a neuronal circuit that controls a sexually dimorphic behavior develop?
We address our question in all levels- single neurons, synapses, circuits, molecules and behavior. We use diverse tools such as molecular biology, transsynaptic labeling, calcium imaging, genetic screening, transcriptomics and more. We are using the powerful genetic toolbox of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as our in vivo model system.
