Your role will include:

  • Mechanical design of diverse scientific instruments for researchers across the Institute, including:
  • Assisting scientists, research assistants, and students in defining needs and instrumentation requirements
  • Overseeing the manufacturing process with the workshops, from part production through assembly, testing, and final delivery of the instrument
  • Working closely with multiple interfaces across the Institute

Skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory
  • At least 5 years of experience in advanced instrumentation design – mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience in various manufacturing technologies and in supporting production processes – mandatory
  • Experience in designing precision mechanical systems – advantage
  • Experience in opto-mechanical design – advantage
  • Strong technical understanding of delicate mechanical systems, vacuum systems, etc. – advantage
  • Familiarity and experience with INVENTOR / SOLIDWORKS – advantage
  • Experience performing thermal and structural analyses (FEA) – advantage
  • Full proficiency in Hebrew and English, spoken and written
  • Initiative, creativity, and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong service orientation and excellent interpersonal communication
