Inventory Planning Specialist
Your role will include:
The role is responsible for the overall planning, forecasting, and optimization of inventory within the warehouse operations unit, including:
• monitoring and control of inventory levels and updating data in relevant systems, including demand planning and identifying/reporting inventory exceptions.
• Identifying and addressing excess or shortage inventory items, including sourcing optimal alternatives when needed.
• Working closely with procurement teams, suppliers, end users, and professional stakeholders across the Institute.
• Conducting negotiations with suppliers.
• Advancing procurement processes, including creating purchase requisitions, tracking deliveries, analyzing inventory reports, generating KPIs, and presenting management status updates.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management, data accuracy, and operational efficiency, and assisting in the development of inventory policies.
• Participating in inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and data-cleansing activities.
• Working in accordance with Institute procedures, safety guidelines, and quality requirements.
• Performing additional duties as required and as directed by the supervisor.
Skills and abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering and Management, Economics, Business Administration, or another relevant field, or a Practical Engineer diploma in Industrial Engineering and Management – required.
• At least 3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, materials planning, or supply chain management – required.
• Experience working with ERP systems for inventory and procurement management – required (experience with the Tifnit system is an advantage).
• Familiarity with scientific consumables and chemicals – advantage.
• Experience in data analysis and operational control – advantage.
• Experience in import/export processes involving hazardous materials – advantage.
• Forklift license – advantage.
• Full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel and AI-based tools/applications.
• High level of proficiency in both Hebrew and English.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-interface environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to perform physical work.
