Research Associate in the Department of Immunology and Biological Regeneration
Your role will include:
Work in a newly established research laboratory focused on pathogenic bacteria and host–pathogen interactions. The laboratory investigates the heterogeneity of bacterial states in clinical infections, with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies. Responsibilities include:
Conduct microbiological experiments using molecular biology techniques, including bacterial cloning and genetic engineering.
Prepare libraries for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and perform fluorescence microscopy experiments.
Train and supervise students in laboratory procedures and research techniques.
Provide administrative and logistical support for laboratory establishment and operation, including inventory management, procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
Ensure compliance with laboratory operating procedures and safety regulations, organize laboratory activities, and contribute to the optimization of workflows and experimental protocols.
Skills and abilities:
- Master's degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field – required. Ph.D. – an advantage.
- Hands-on experience working with bacteria and microbiological techniques – required.
- Practical experience with molecular biology techniques, including cloning and mutagenesis – required.
- Experience in NGS library preparation – required.
- Experience in training or supervising students – an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong sense of responsibility, proactive approach, and ability to learn independently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and high motivation.
