Your role will include:
Weizmann School of Science Information Technology Division Representative, serving as a central point of contact for the handling, coordination, and escalation of technology-related requests in the areas of computing, applications, infrastructure, and digital platforms supporting teaching, research, and administrative activities.
The role includes, among other things:
- Providing on-site and remote service and support to Weizmann School of Science staff.
- Handling complex Tier 2 issues in the areas of computing, hardware, operating systems, applications, and digital services.
- Guiding users through work processes with the Information Technology Division.
- Coordinating requests with infrastructure, applications, development, and operations teams.
- Performing professional escalation to relevant parties for continued handling, in accordance with service processes.
- Supporting technology projects from the definition stage, through testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Documenting requests, tracking their handling, meeting SLAs, and continuously improving the service experience.
- Training users, writing knowledge documents, and making technological information accessible to school teams.
- Ongoing collaboration with administrative, academic, and technological stakeholders within the school and the Information Technology Division.
Skills and abilities:
- Computer technician or graduate of a relevant professional course in the field of computing – required.
- At least two years of experience in technical support or a technology service center, including relevant military experience – required.
- Experience providing service and support to users in an organizational environment – required.
- Knowledge and experience working with the Microsoft environment – required.
- Experience in application support or guiding users through information systems – required.
- Experience implementing systems or supporting technological change processes – an advantage.
- Experience in training, writing guides, or knowledge documents for users – an advantage.
- Experience supporting organizational applications or information systems – an advantage.
- Experience working with an Internal Services system – an advantage.
- Experience working in an academic, research, or large organizational environment – an advantage.
- Experience supporting or managing technological tasks and projects – an advantage.
- Good familiarity with computer hardware, end-user equipment, devices, drivers, and hardware troubleshooting – an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience working with the Mac environment – an advantage.
- Full proficiency in Hebrew and English — reading, writing, and speaking – required.
- Ability to maintain organized documentation and work with ITSM / CRM systems – required.
- High service orientation, patience, excellent interpersonal communication, and the ability to work with a diverse range of users.
- Ability to work independently as well as integrate into a team.
- Self-learning ability, understanding of processes, and quick adaptation to new technological environments.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a multitasking environment.
