Goal of the Workshop

The title of workshop is "Open Problems in Quantum Open Systems", and indeed we want the workshop to focus on the important open problems. Each lecture will be a pedagogically oriented minicourse of 3-4 hours (!). The principle is for each speaker to go into depth, and to avoid a standard 50 minute seminar-style presentation.

The topics will include: rigorous formulations of quantum dissipation including path integral methods, non-Markovian master equations and centroid methods, quantum dissipation due to interactions with chaos, classical and quantum rate theory for dissipative systems, spin-boson models, electron conduction and electron transfer, with a focus on the unsolved problems.
