Establishment of effective immunity against invading microbes depends on the continuous generation of effector cells and antibodies that facilitate pathogen clearance and long lasting immunity. Generation of protective antibody producing cells and long-lived memory cells primarily takes place within lymphoid organs in specialized microanatomical sites, known as germinal centers. The aim of the meeting is to promote scientific communication among scientists that study germinal centers and immune cell interactions and functions within lymphoid niches, including cell- and antibody-mediated immune responses. The meeting will cover several aspects and novel findings in these processes, including immune cell dynamics, regulation of gene expression, chromatin remodeling as well as emergence of malignant cells.
