The International Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science will hold its 71st Annual General Meeting on November 10-13, 2019, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Weizmann Institute.
Since its establishment, the Weizmann Institute has held true to the vision of Dr. Chaim Weizmann – promoting outstanding, curiosity-driven research for the benefit of humanity. This spirit of excellence, innovation, and dedication to understanding the mysteries of the universe has been at the core of the scientific research carried out in the labs of the Weizmann Institute for the last 70 years.
Despite being a small institution in the small state of Israel, far from the main scientific hubs of the world, Weizmann Institute scientists have paved the way for groundbreaking work in numerous fields, from cancer research to information technology to the discovery of the Higgs boson. The spirit of innovation and excellence on campus has helped the Institute rank 3rd in the world in the normalized Nature Index, and in the top 10 of the prestigious Leiden Ranking, which measures the worldwide impact of scientists’ publications.
We hope you will join us this November at the Weizmann Institute of Science as we mark 70 years of exceptional science, and celebrate with our global community of friends, whose support has facilitated the breakthrough research of our scientists. We will also introduce novel projects; present newly recruited scientists; dedicate institutes, centers, and chairs; confer Doctor of Philosophy honoris causa degrees, the Institute’s highest honor; and much more.
We look forward to seeing you here in Rehovot.
