The two-day workshop will focus on one of the most active research areas in nanotechnology: the relationships and "cross-fertilization" between nanoparticles and biological / biomedical systems. The diverse subjects covered include biological and biologically-inspired nanoparticles, therapeutic applications of nanoparticles, nanoparticle toxicity, nanoparticle-based biosensors, and others. This topic is truly interdisciplinary which includes contributions from biological and biomedical researchers, physical scientists, engineers, and scientists working in related fields. The workshop will bring together senior and junior scientists as well as students from Israel and overseas, and is aimed to provide a venue for exposure and informal discussions of an exciting and cutting-edge scientific field.
