Annual Meeting 2021
Protein Engineering Design & Evolution, Commemorating the work of Prof. Dan Tawfik from the Weizmann Institute of Science
Proteins are the rubber that hits the road, responsible for most cellular processes. Some proteins are enzymes, others play a central role in cellular assembly or engaged in communication, whether within or between cells. With the centrality of proteins in all aspects of life, the desire to engineer them - whether for learning about nature of a specific biological process or to create novel functions - goes hand in hand with the discovery of their complex behavior. This year’s annual meeting of the ISBMB is dedicated to the field of Protein Engineering, Design and Evolution. The meeting commemorates the immense contributions of Professor Dan Tawfik from the Weizmann Institute of Science, who was a world leader in this field. The conference will include invited presentations, a poster session and short talks, selected from the submitted abstracts.
