About the program

Launched as part of the Weizmann Institute’s commitment to diversifying the scientific community, the DIAMOND Program provides a comprehensive framework of financial, academic, and emotional support for first-year MSc students each year. Participants receive a fully funded support package that includes personal mentorship, tailored English-language instruction, counseling services, housing assistance, and additional resources — creating a strong foundation for success, both inside and outside the lab.

The DIAMOND Program plays a pivotal role in expanding pathways of opportunity for students from Arab, Haredi, first-generation, and low-income or geographically remote communities, empowering them to become the next generation of researchers, innovators, and scientific leaders.

While talent is universal, opportunity is not. Addressing the latter, the DIAMOND Program ensures that students’ background does not determine their future. More than a scholarship, it is a community and a launchpad for individuals with the potential to shape the future of science. By nurturing diverse talent, the Institute adds new voices, perspectives, and ideas — enriching its own ecosystem as well as the global research community.
