Antivirus Protection for your Personal Computer

Weizmann is currently under a virus attack that has impacted many Windows computers on campus, making it impossible to use applications such as Microsoft Office, Acrobat Reader and others.

In order to clean your computer and to prevent the virus from spreading, you must update the antivirus.

  1. First check the updated version on your computer.
    Double click the antivirus icon, as shown in the following image:

    If you do not have the Symantec antivirus installed, please contact the Helpdesk (ext. 4444 or open a ticket) immediately!

  2. The correct updated version must be later than Tuesday, July 10, 2012, according to the following (circled in red):

    If your date does not match the above, you must update your antivirus.

  3. Double click again on the antivirus icon:

  4. In the window that opens, select LiveUpdate (the last option on the left, as shown above).
  5. When that's done, click on Close (on the lower right) and then check to make sure that the version has been updated.
