The Computing Center recommends that users who are working on Weizmann machines use the automatic proxy configuration. The automatic configuration option allows for automatic fallback to other proxies if the primary proxy is unavailable, and access to the library journals which have subscriptions, via the correct proxy.
If you are working on a machine that is not a Weizmann machine or if you are working in wireless mode, you should use the manual proxy configuration.
Note that you may configure your browser to use the Weizmann proxy only if you are working on a machine that is on the Weizmann network or if you have authenticated yourself to the firewall. (See the note on the http8080 service).
On a PC or on a Unix/Linux machine, you must configure your web browser to use a proxy. If you are using Mac OS_X, you must configure the proxy outside of the web browser.
