Windows Users

In order to use your cable connection, you must create a dialer. Follow these instructions to create a dialer:

1. Click Start → Settings → Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click Set up a new connection or network.
3. Click Connect to a workplace.

   

4. Select No, Create a new connection.
5. Click Use my Internet connection (VPN).
6. For Internet address, type 132.77.21.240
7. For Destination name, type Weizmann VPN.
8. Mark the Don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later checkbox.
9. For User name, type your user ID.
10. Leave the Password field empty and click Create.
11. Close the window.
12. In the left pane of the Network and Sharing Center window, click Change adapter settings.
13. Double-click the Weizmann VPN icon.

14. Click Properties.
15. Open the Security Tab.
16. For Type of VPN, select PPTP...
17. For Data encryption, select No Encryption...
18. Click Allow these protocols and mark only the Unencrypted password (PAP) checkbox.
19. Click OK.

 You are now ready to connect to Weizmann.

Macintosh Users

In order to use your cable connection, you must create a dialer. Follow these instructions to create a dialer:

1. Click Apple → System Preferences... and select Network.
2. Click the + (plus) icon located on the bottom left of the Network window.
3. For Interface, select VPN.
4. For VPN Type, select PPTP.
5. In the Service Name field, type Weizmann Cable.
6. Click Create.

7. From the Network List, select Weizmann Cable.
8. For Server Address, type wis-vpn.weizmann.ac.il
9. For Account Name, type your user ID.
10. In the Encryption menu, select None.
11. Mark the Show VPN status in menu bar checkbox.
12. Click Apply and close the Network window.

You are now ready to connect to Weizmann.
