Weizmann League presents: the innovation game

In November, Weizmann Canada’s young professional group, the Weizmann League, held a panel discussion on The Innovation Game: How Science and Start-ups are Changing the World. Panelists included David Shore, Canadian Director of OurCrowd; Trish Nixon, Chief Impact Investing Officer at CoPower; and Dr. Ran Kafri, Weizmann Institute alumnus and Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto. The panel was moderated by Jeff Dennis, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Fasken Martineau LLP. The group discussed the state of innovation and entrepreneurship in Canada, and what Canada can do to catch up to Israel in this regard.
The event raised over $15,000 in support of Sparks of Science in Memory of Moshe Pergament at the Weizmann Institute of Science and served to increase awareness about the Institute among the next generation of Weizmann advocates and philanthropists.
