What Is Being Done?

  • What
    Can I
    Do?

    Is Being
    Done?
  • Why
    Do
    It?

Most of WIS employees live off-campus and hence need to make the way between home and campus twice a day. Vehicle transportation is a major contributor to air pollution via fossil fuel combustion. Cars also take up a big portion of the campus area for parking and make a financial burden on drivers. Therefore, the Weizmann Institute actively supports the use of other, essential means of transportation.

What Is Being Done?

Current and planned:

  • New bicycle parking locations installed around campus
  • Internal shuttle: see map and timetable
  • Establishment of a carpool network database
  • Planned infrastructure for bicycle riding on campus (in-house showers) and in Rehovot (allocating bicycle lanes in town)
