The Center has three senior researchers, Prof. Elisabetta Boaretto, Prof. Steve Weiner (emeritus) and Dr. Filipe Natalio. The Center has MSc students, PhD students and post-docs.
Prof. Boaretto is the director of the Kimmel Center for Archaeological Science, as well as the director of the D-REAMS accelerator mass spectrometry laboratory for radiocarbon dating, and she is a track leader for the track entitled “The Timing of Cultural Change” in the Max Planck Society-Weizmann Institute. Dr. Filipe Natalio is exploring of biolithic signatures from flint-based stone tools in prehistoric archaeology as proxies for determining flint tool’s provenience and developing artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithms capable of mining the "known unknowns" patterns hidden in large archaeological datasets.
