Gaseous detectors

Gaseous detectors is a core technology of many modern detectors. Building precise, reliable, fast and cost effective detectors is not an easy task. In our lab we use the micropattern gaseous detectors, such as gas electron multipliers (GEM) to build a tracking system of the new sPHENIX detector at the Brookhaven National Laboratory.

This detetctor will take its first data in 2020.
