Research Laboratory Experiences
Directed by Prof. Z. Shakked Structural Studies of DNA
Directed by Prof. J. L. Sussman and Prof. I. Silman. Under technical supervision of L. Toker Used biochemical and biophysical tools to purify and characterize acetylcholinesterases from Torpedo californica and Bungarus fasciatus.
Under supervision of Prof. J. Kroon Participated in Laue diffraction studies on acetylcholinesterase crystals, with the ultimate goal of time-resolved studies, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry, Strasbourg and the ESRF White Beamline ID9 group, Grenoble. Obtained four crystal forms of Torpedo californica
acetylcholinesterase
Directed by Dr. C. Cambillau. Under supervision of Dr. C. Withers-Martinez Obtained crystal and resolved structures of ten cutinase mutants, an inhibitor-cutinase complex and cutinase expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and in Aspergillus niger Collected and refined crystal data of cutinase expressed in E. coli at 1.15 Å with conventional X-ray source and collected crystal data at 1.05 Å resolution with synchrotron X-ray source at DESY (Hamburg, Germany) and ESRF (Grenoble, France) Compared 18 alpha/beta hydrolase fold structures in their native and inhibited forms LABORATORY OF ENZYMATIC
LIPOLYSE, CNRS, Marseille, France
Directed by Dr. C. Cambillau. Under supervision of Dr. C. Withers-Martinez Obtained crystal and resolved structures of a cutinase mutant Determined kinetic parameters of two inhibitor-cutinase complexes and crystallised them
Directed by Prof. C. Oliver. Under supervison of Dr. P. Giraud Helped find optimal conditions for rat nervous cell culture with an artificial gene (preparation of striatum rat neural cell culture, plasmid amplification and purification, neural cell transfection, CAT activity measurements)
Directed by Dr. H. Bloch Participated in research on sensorial perception in the human fetus LABORATORY OF HUMAN NEUROBIOLOGY, CNRS, Marseille,
France
LABORATORY OF HIGH PRESSURE PHYSIOLOGY, CNRS, Marseille,
France
