Prof. Israel Bar-Joseph, the Institute’s Vice President for Resource Development and Public Affairs, recently visited Florida and Massachusetts. He spoke to guests at the home of Sharon and Peter Gelbwaks (a Leadership Council member) in Plantation. The next day, he was the featured speaker at the home of Ety and David Alcalay in Delray Beach. Each gathering attracted a crowd of about 70. Prof. Bar-Joseph then traveled to the Harvard Club of Boston, where he met with longtime and new Weizmann supporters, as well as alumni of the Institute who are now faculty members or postdoctoral fellows at Harvard, MIT, and other prestigious institutions. At each event, Prof. Bar-Joseph provided an overview of the latest Weizmann research in areas such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, personalized medicine, artificial intelligence, new materials, and more. Attendees learned about the Institute’s groundbreaking work and its important impact in a wide range of fields.
