The second annual gathering of the west Switzerland chapter of the Swiss Society of Friends of Weizmann, led by Mr. Alex Dembitz and Mr. Jean-Marc Brunschwig, was held on November 22 in Geneva.

Prof. Daniel Zajfman, President of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and Prof. Ada Yonath, the 2009 Nobel laureate in chemistry, were hosted for lunch in the home of Jean-Marc and Sylvie Brunschwig. Some 30 individuals from the business, cultural, and scientific sectors of west Switzerland were in attendance.

Prof. Zajfman discussed the Institute’s philosophy of nurturing curiosity, passion, and knowledge and recruiting the best and brightest scientists. Prof. Yonath described her pioneering work on the structure of the ribosome and her current challenges in research related to her discovery.

Mr. Eric Stupp, Chairman of the Swiss Society, thanked the members of the Geneva chapter for its commitment and conveyed the Swiss Society's gratitude to the Brunschwig family for their hospitality.
