A conversation with Weizmann Institute President Prof. Alon Chen

Members of the Israel Friends Association the Weizmann Alumni Organization had a unique opportunity for an in-depth conversation with Weizmann Institute President Prof. Alon Chen who was previously Head of the Department of Neurobiology. A world-renowned brain scientist, Prof. Chen focuses on the biological processes involved in anxiety and stress.

He described Weizmann research efforts to fight COVID-19. He described the work of Prof. Sarel Fleishman, Dr. Ron Diskin, and Dr. Nir London, who are spearheading efforts to create a vaccine or drug for the disease.

He also gave advice, based on his own research, for dealing with stress during the pandemic. The lecture focused on the ways in which the body handles anxiety and recommended activities to overcome it.
