The Israeli Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science convened at the Tel Aviv Hilton to hear about the recent research of Prof. Ido Amit, of the Department of Immunology. Prof. Amit explores the genetics of immunology, as well as the influence of the immune system on Alzheimer's disease. He aims to decode what in our genomes directs immune cells to differentiate and respond to invading pathogens or tumors.

Guest speaker Ilana Dayan, an Israeli investigative journalist, anchorwoman, and attorney, also spoke. She is best known as host of the investigative television program Uvda ("Fact") on Israeli Channel 2. Dayan shared her experiences with public personalities who are trying to influence the popular opinion around her investigations of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The event was sponsored by Credit Suisse bank.
