The Weizmann League has gone national

Date: Wednesday, June 26, 2019

The next generation is stepping up to show its support of the Weizmann Institute, and it is being done with a great deal of fun and regional flare. Weizmann Canada is proud to announce that its Weizmann League committees are now operating in three cities across Canada: Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. The League encourages young professionals to come together for educational experiences, networking opportunities, and fundraising in support of the Weizmann Institute.

The Montreal group has started a quarterly breakfast and video call with a Weizmann scientist in addition to hosting its own Science on Tap series sponsored by the Ardene Foundation.

Toronto has held an annual Innovation Game fundraiser which has brought together leaders in science and business, from Weizmann and the local community. Toronto Weizmann Leaguers (pictured above) also started a Sweat for Science fitness series. The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and Dr. Daniel C. Andreae proudly sponsored all the League’s 2019 activities.

Calgary, the newest Weizmann League committee, recently launched with its own innovation-themed event, and the group is excited to share what Weizmann Canada has in store for Calgarians.

The spark has been ignited with Canada’s young leaders as they pave the way for future engagement and support for the Weizmann Institute.
