The Mexican Friends hosted Dr. Jacob Hanna of the Department of Molecular Genetics in Mexico City in early December. Dr. Hanna’s visit included scientific lectures at the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) and CINVESTAV (the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute), one of the biggest research center in Mexico), as well as lectures open to the general public.

Dr. Hanna’s talks, focused on his research on reprogramming stem cells to cure disease, generated great interest. Dr. Hanna was recently recognized as a top young innovator under 40 by MIT’s Technology Review magazine.
