Prof. Mudi Sheves, Chairman of Yeda Research and Development Company Ltd. and Weizmann Institute Vice President for Technology Transfer, delivered the opening lecture at the 5th BioArgentina conference. The event was held in November at the Buenos Aires Exhibition and Convention Centre (CEC), with nearly 1,000 people in attendance.

Prof. Sheves described the work Yeda is carrying out and how society can benefit from the Weizmann Institute’s scientific developments.

BioArgentina is organized by the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology (CAB), which is led by Dr. Hugo Sigman. Dr. Sigman also serves as President of the Argentinian Society of Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science. The event has become a key meeting point for entrepreneurs, scientists, businesspeople, and students from the biotechnology sector.

The Weizmann Institute’s circle of friends in Argentina is rapidly expanding. During his visit, Prof. Sheves gave a presentation to Argentinian friends and members of the Weizmann Board, which brought together not only participants from Buenos Aires but also special guests from the Córdoba, Mendoza, and Buenos Aires provinces.

Prof. Sheves also accompanied Dr. Sigman to a gathering with academics, with an aim to strengthen new collaborative efforts.
