Dr. Shira Raveh-Rubin from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences travelled to London to participate in a conference hosted by the Royal Geographical Society’s “How to: Academy.”
Dr. Raveh-Rubin joined the prestigious line-up of experts, who together delivered insight into the future at the group’s 2018 symposium "How to Change the World." The event took place on December 6.
Dr. Raveh-Rubin spoke about the causes and dynamics of extreme weather, as well as her research, which fuses case studies of highly destructive storms with detailed and long-term weather and climate data. She hopes to improve weather forecasting and global climate models, which may lead to the development of early-warning measures before extreme weather events.
