High aspect ratio gold-assisted InAs nanowires

High aspect ratio gold-assisted InAs nanowires are regularly grown with a perfect wurtzite structure and relatively uniform diameter and length.
The gold layer is evaporated in-situ after oxide blow-off. The nanowires diameter and density is controlled by the gold thickness, the substrate heating rate and maximum temperature.  The scale bar is one micron.  This work is the foundation for the nanowires based mesoscopic physics work at the Braun Center.
