Leveraging AI to propel science forward

The Artificial Intelligence Enterprise for Scientific Discovery will give Weizmann researchers greater access to AI expertise and infrastructure, facilitate global partnerships, and empower scientists from every discipline to utilize AI to achieve game-changing breakthroughs.

Dr. Tali Dekel of the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics develops AI algorithms that enhance our ability to analyze and synthesize still images and video. A Staff Research Scientist at Google, Dr. Dekel’s work is contributing to the design of cutting-edge large-scale AI systems for computer vision.

Dr. Leeat Keren of the Department of Molecular Cell Biology combines AI image analysis with MIBI-TOF, a technology that makes it possible to view the precise amount and location of dozens of different proteins in each cell in complex tissues, including cancerous tumors. Her approach has been used to characterize interactions within triple-negative breast cancer tumors, assess various treatment options, and predict outcomes.
