We are interested in the design and function of networks of neurons and other biological networks -- asking how they represent and process information, develop, learn, and make decisions.

We combine theoretical work, modeling, analysis of experimental data, and behavioral experiments, in studying neural coding and decoding, large neural populations, sensory processing, collective behavior, noise and information, learning, animal swarming, and decision making. [read more]
