New Head of Operations Division

Dear Weizmann Institute community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Shimon Ishai as the Institute’s new Head of Operations Division. Shimon will take up his position on October 1, 2021 and will replace Yossi Werner.

Shimon joins the Institute from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he served as Deputy Director for Finance and in his last position as Deputy Director for Human Resources. Prior to that, he served as CFO of a start-up company.

Shimon was born and raised in moshav Gilat in the Negev, where he lives to this day.

Shimon is married, a father of two daughters and a grandfather to one grandson; He is a CPA by training and holds a bachelor's degree in economics with a specialization in accounting and an MBA, both from Ben-Gurion University.

I would like to thank Yossi for his work at the Institute over the past decade and wish Shimon great success in his role.
