AWARD MECHANISM: YIA provides a two-year salary award commensurate to the applicant’s level of training and an allowance of $5000 over the life of the award to support attendance at research conferences, training courses relevant to NF, and other educational materials.
The YIA program will support:

  1. Postdoctoral fellows up to 7 years after receipt of their first doctoral degree who are focused on NF and wish to continue their careers in the NF field.
  2. Pre-doctoral students pursuing projects focused on NF. Note: the applicant must write pre-doctoral applications independently, not by the laboratory head/supervisor.

SCIENTIFIC AREAS: YIA research may focus on all of the NF1 manifestations, NF2 and Schwannomatosis. The program intends to include any type of study including translational and clinical research, and basic research.
