AWARD MECHANISM: In order to strengthen the exchange of young scientists between both countries, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited to apply for grants, up to 2,000 EUR each (including airfare and accommodation) to attend the 7th Göttingen Meeting of the German Neuroscience Society. The meeting is hosted by the German Neuroscience Society.  The conference will take place from March 29 to April 1, 2007 in Göttingen, Germany. Eligibility- Excellent young neuroscientists graduate students and postdoctoral fellows (up to 35 years old) at the beginning of their  careers.

SCIENTIFIC AREAS: Diseases of the nervous system affect large numbers of people in both countries Israel and Germany. Accordingly, molecular and cellular mechanisms of brain function and of neurological diseases are the main research areas of the projects currently funded.
