Welcome to Weizmann Institute’s Atomic Scale Physics (WASP) lab!

Recent thrusts in scientific research on topological phases of matter have led to the discovery of dozens of topological materials. Our lab intensively studies the topological states of matter in low dimensional structures by combining growth, fabrication and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), all in a single modular ultra-high vacuum environment. This platform uniquely allows us to observe well anticipated topological phenomena such as the Majorana modes.
