For many years my laboratory has studied virus-host cell interactions, with the focus on hepatitis B virus (HBV). These investigations have revealed insights on the molecular mechanisms that orchestrate cellular decision-making processes. Many observations springing from this study have developed into new avenues of research in the laboratory, including the role of non-receptor tyrosine kinases in cell fate decisions, and the study of intrinsically disordered proteins and their degradation.
