What can be learned from other neurological diseases?

The conference brings together a unique group of scientists describing the following topics:
A contemporary view of the brain-immune dialogue; possible immune defects in A.L.S and
AD; multiple roles of innate immune cells in neurodegenerative diseases; distinct etiology and
pathology of inflammatory versus neurodegenerative disease; a new meaning for the immune
privilege of the brain; the discrete and complementary functions of microglia and blood
macrophages; stem cell therapy, beyond cell replacement; and new pharmacological directions.
