Empowering Innovation Through Strategic Expertise - Advisor Spotlight on Dr. Mor Vered
Bina was created to provide a pathway for translating academic innovation into real-world solutions. Its professional network operates precisely in that space - encouraging the translation of raw scientific potential into viable venture opportunities.
Dr. Mor Vered highlights how Bina harnesses top-tier expertise to enhance promising scientific projects and advance their applicative impact.
Her background spans therapeutics, technology transfer, strategic consulting, and venture capital experience.
Mor earned her PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Stephen Jung’s lab, studying the role of macrophages in inflammatory bowel disease. Soon after, she joined Arkin Holdings, an early-stage therapeutic VC fund. Over the course of six years, Mor evaluated hundreds of technologies, analyzed competitive landscapes, assessed market needs, and helped shape investment decisions.
Currently, she advises VCs, angels, and startups on business development, competitive analysis, go-to-market planning, branding, spin-offs, and investment strategy.
At Bina, Mor brings a clear understanding of industry expectations combined with a critical investor’s perspective. For Mor, working with Bina carries a strong sense of alignment and purpose. During her PhD years at Weizmann, before Bina existed, she experienced the absence of a structure that could help basic researchers explore applied potential.
“I had a project that I believed could be applicable,” she recalls, “however, I didn't have the tools to advance the research for technology transfer readiness or figure out what the next steps towards commercialization might be.”
Today, she is helping Bina provide exactly that structure, guiding teams and accompanying projects from crucial early framing through the full translational process.
She also strengthens Bina’s flagship programs, including Idea to Action and the Bina Innovation Fellowship, shaping how researchers learn to connect their science to real-world applications.
Notably, she played an integrative role in creating Bina’s Drug Discovery Program, which is tailored to advance validated therapeutic targets toward industry solutions.
“Bina’s programs and guidance open people’s minds,” she says. “They expose academic researchers to perspectives they wouldn’t normally encounter, like how to think about market size or define an unmet need.”
Through Bina’s supportive infrastructure and with the expertise of advisors like Mor, scientists gain clarity on how to transform their accumulated research knowledge into a commercially relevant purpose with a structured development roadmap.
This strategic, experience-driven guidance drives projects to mature with intention, while sharpening their value with a stronger alignment between scientific innovation and real-world impact - precisely the gap Bina was built to bridge.
