Prof. Michal Schwartz

Schwartz’s laboratory focuses on attaining a deep understanding of the cross-talk between the brain and the immune system in health and disease, with an emphasis on developing immunotherapies to defeat neurodegenerative diseases, in general, and Alzheimer’s disease, in particular. The lab uses multiple techniques including small animal models (surgery, genetic manipulations, and cognitive and behavioral assessment), biochemical techniques, as well as multi-dimensional immunological, cytometric and transcriptomic approaches.
