Global temperature changes and the need to extend sustainable energy resources have posted new challenges in photosynthetic research. Thus, a significant part of the research in the lab aims at understanding the underlying principles that govern adaptation of photosynthesis to the ambient temperatures of different habitats and engineering of new, thermo-stable and thermo-flexible microorganisms to be used as novel platforms for the above.
