About

The Latin American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science was founded in 2014 with the primary goal of raising awareness and funds for the Weizmann Institute in this region. Dany Schmit is the CEO of the Committee and works from the Institute in Rehovot, travelling frequently to the continent.
The Committee operates in Latin America and in the U.S. among Spanish and Portuguese-speaking communities.

Brazil

The Brazilian Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science is a non-profit organization that supports the Weizmann Institute of Science in maintaining its excellence in scientific research and in contributing significantly to human health for the world at large. The Amigos do Weizmann --as they are called in Portuguese -- also promote scientific exchange between Brazil and the Weizmann Institute, fostering cutting-edge research and development for the benefit of all humanity.

The Mexican Association of Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science was founded in 1982 by a group of people interested in strengthening the scientific relationship between the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Mexican scientific community, for the benefit of humanity.

The newly reopened Association of Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Argentina is a network of dedicated volunteers who share a common vision with the Institute in advancing science for the benefit of humanity. The Argentinian Friends engages in various activities to strengthen the connections between Israel and Argentina through science and technology, such as promoting students exchanges and scientific connections.
