Things we (don't) know about planetay interiors

Abstract: Abstract: Today, hundreds of extrasolar planets have been detected and their number is increasing at a rapid pace. The discovery of planets outside the solar-system opens an opportunity to learn about planets as a class. However, a substantial improvement in our understanding of extrasolar planets, in particular, their physical properties, is not possible without detailed investigation and better understanding of the solar-system planets. I will briefly discuss how planetary interiors are modeled, and will present interior models of the four solar-system outer planets, i.e., Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, including the main uncertainties in planetary composition and interior structure.
