The Weizmann Institute is thrilled to announce an extraordinary pledge from longtime friend Sir John Ritblat for the construction of a state-of-the-art Exhibition Hall for the Davidson Institute of Science Education, situated alongside the newly renovated Clore Garden of Science. This visionary $10 million charitable contribution will bring to life a spectacular facility designed to ignite the curiosity and passion of future generations of science enthusiasts.
The new building will be a beacon of innovation, featuring interactive exhibits and activities, and hosting high-profile events for both the Weizmann and Davidson Institutes. Spanning 1,200 square meters and accommodating up to 800 visitors, this two-story marvel will include a professional workshop area to design new exhibits and maintain existing ones, a main exhibition space filled with multisensory displays, and a multipurpose 200-seat auditorium, set to become a premier venue for lectures and conferences.
The Exhibition Hall is positioned prominently on campus, and will serve as a bridge between groundbreaking Weizmann science and the educational landscape of the Clore Garden.
Sir John Ritblat, a distinguished British property developer, investor, and philanthropist, is a dedicated patron of education, culture, and sports. A cherished friend of the Institute, he is a member of the International Board and has served as a Trustee and Vice President of Weizmann UK and as a member of the Institute’s Board of Governors.
“The Exhibition Hall will be a place where science moves beyond the labs and comes to life,” says Sir John Ritblat. “I hope people will come from all over the world to see for themselves just what makes the Weizmann Institute a global leader in innovation, a powerhouse of intellectual endeavor for Israel, and a seat of learning for future generations of scientists.”
