Art Inspired Science

The ARTIS Program provides WIS scientists with a unique space to explore creative thinking through artistic mediums, guided by leading figures from the Israeli art world. Participants work closely with artists in hands-on creative processes. The program integrates reflection and connection to their own scientific work, deepening both their artistic and scientific journeys.

ARTIS Program Structure

The program begins with an introductory sessions. Participants then explore different artistic media. For each medium, scientists participate in three intensive, hands-on sessions, working closely with artists to experience their creative processes firsthand. Through this journey, participants gain tools and perspectives from the art world that they can apply to their own scientific work, fostering creativity and new ways of thinking.

Passionate about creative thinking! The creation of ARTIS was driven by a desire to bring art to campus in a more diverse and meaningful way. We believe that art can inspire science by allowing scientists to integrate creative tools from the art world into their own research. We are thrilled to have founded this unique program at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
