The Fuck-it age | Michal Libedinsky
“This year I turned 52. According to the society I live in, I’ve reached menopause- in Hebrew the word for menopause is blut, which means decay - the official insult assigned to aging women. No wonder so many women that turn 50 celebrate their birthday by sitting shiva.
And I say: fuck it”.
We misunderstood the term. The decay isn’t ours. It belongs to everything in life that no longer fits: the decay of guilt, the decay of people-pleasing, the decay of fear of what others will say, the decay of everything that keeps me from being myself.
At 50, I am more me than I’ve ever been. EVER.”
After she examines the concept of relationships in the show 'Happily Ever After' (with her partner Shai Avivi)
She is coming out with an anti–aging performance: A new stand-up act about a woman’s relationships during menopause: with her body, her personality, her refusal to wear glasses, her teenagers, Botox, her partner, her sexuality, her bladder — and with the term: “menopause.”
In this show, I rebrand it as The Fuck-It Age
