The Heart Shaped Leaf | Zvi Sahar and Shira Gefen

Puppet theater, shadow play, animation; a stage adaptation of “The Heart Shaped Leaf” by Shira Geffen, co-adapted and directed by Zvi Sahar, and designed by David Polonsky – the book’s illustrator. In a magical journey through the garden, a golden leaf drifts down and gently lands on her head, and it becomes her quiet companion, shielding her - becoming her friend. But it belongs to the tree. Should it stay with her, or return to its natural place?

Through inventive direction and a richly imaginative story, the play offers a layered and touching theatrical journey – exploring connection, compassion, and the delicate goodbyes that help us grow. It’s an open invitation for children and adults alike to reconnect with the emotional depth of childhood, where even the smallest details carry profound meaning.


The Magic of Creation: A dialogue will be held at the end of the performance between the children and creators Zvi Sahar, Shira Geffen, Rotem Goldenberg , and Aviv Horovitz – about creation, ideas and imagery, puppet operation, and getting close to the stage, so they can understand how it works and see the magic up close.

But just what lies behind the appeal of the painting – and just who was the artist who created it?  Delving into the details of real gold, decorative designs, symbolism and simmering erotica, a close study of the painting takes us to the remarkable turn of the century Vienna when a new world was battling with the old. Klimt was a titan of the Art Nouveau movement, creating decadent new worlds which merged tender sensuality, ancient mythology and radical modernity. Premiere screening: A burning man | Eyal Halfon

Winner of the Best Israeli Film Award at the Haifa International Film Festival, for which Shai Avivi also won Best Actor:


A father drives his soldier son to a remote military base, where he says goodbye and is immediately seized by a deep-seated anxiety, terrified he may never see his son again. The man, in his mid-fifties, plants himself near the camp's fence, refusing to leave as if his unwavering presence could somehow shield his son.
His own life is at a standstill, too, forcing him to confront long-avoided decisions that will set his future back in motion . As he waits a series of unexpected visitors appear and vanish. Still, Yona Kimchi remains beneath the tree - waiting for news, or for a greeting.
